Our History
Paddy's
Market is a family business established in 1955 by Norm and Marion
McKeen It was opened on Taunton Road East, in Hampton
where it remains today. Their first inventory consisted of six
wringer washers sold out of a box trailer. For 50 years Paddy's
Market has been selling to the people of Durham Region and
surrounding areas.
Their son Jed started working at Paddy's as a teenager, and today, he and
his wife Jody carry on the family tradition selling a wide selection
of
new appliance lines including
Whirlpool, KitchenAid, LG,
Estate, Amana, Maytag, Danby, Inglis, Panasonic and Frigidaire.
In May 1988 the store celebrated the grand opening of the building
that now houses their appliance warehouse.
Paddy's Market introduced their "Road Service" in 1995.
Providing excellent customer in-home service is such a success that
Paddy's Market now boasts four experienced appliance technicians and
four
fully equipped service vans.
Paddy's
Market has hundreds
of used parts from old machines that occupy the
back lot behind the store.
In 2000, Paddy's Market expanded into the
electronics
market, giving their customers a wide variety of inventory to
choose from including
televisions, home theatre systems,
digital photography and computers. They have four delivery trucks
running six days a week.
